New Addition

I am very proud to announce the birth of our new nephew! He was born May 29, 2009 at 6:48 pm. He was a whopping 9 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long. Jenn of course was amazing and had him all natural, yes people no epidural and he was over 9 pounds, like I said amazing! I'm so proud of her and Matty.
This has been a very emotional journey for me with her, considering we were pregnant together, knowing are babes would only be a couple months apart was exciting but the fact that we are not living in the same state made it, well, bittersweet. It became even more emotional for me when they called and announced that our nephew had entered the world. Keep in mind we have been referring to him as our nephew since the day they found out it was a boy. They had not agreed on his name for months, and so when they finally made their decision they wanted to keep it a secret until his birth. We respected their decision and hadn't pressed to know, until they called. They went in circles telling us in detail about the labor, his weight, size etc., until finally we got them to tell us his name. I thought they were kidding at first and asked them what his name really was and then they said it again, I seriously had no control of my tears at that point. Again they repeated his name, MICAH CHARLES ENSOR, my heart hit my stomach and was touched beyond measure.
There really isn't much more I can type at this time, as I am getting choked up again. Just know we are beyond thrilled and honored that they paired the name Micah with Jenn's father's name.
We can not wait to meet the new little bundle, we love him oh so much already.
Look at the handsome little prince!

Healthy and Happy

Today was Elsie's two month check up. She is technically 10 weeks but they had to reschedule her original appt. for today. I am very proud to announce that she is healthy and happy, (pediatrician's exact words) She said that her disposition is so sweet and that she is a very happy baby. She also weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs 10 oz and is now almost 24 " long. That is almost 5 inches since she was born!!! She is in the 75% of babies... whatever that means. Basically she is above average, but she made it very clear that 75% is great and that does not mean overweight and that she is proportioned perfectly! It was one of those appointments that makes you smile as a mommy, knowing you have a healthy happy baby! Praise God for that.
Just hangin' out

Memorial Weekend

What would Memorial weekend be if there wasn't shopping involved? Tricia or should I say Aunt Tricia came down this past weekend and was finally able to meet Ms. Elsie Pearl face to face. Little did Elsie know that she was representing all babies when it came to Tricia so she needed to be on her best behavior. Which of course she was. I'm pretty certain she won Tricia's heart over and hopefully she will decide to start having little ones of her own soon. I met up with her and Nat (Aunt Nat) on Saturday for a shopping Extravaganza at Nordstrom Rack. I was concerned Elsie wasn't going to make it through a few hours of shopping but she was perfect and slept in her new pram during her nap time. Plus she had the Aunties to snuggle and hold her whenever she needed. It was a splenderific shopping day. God blessed us with such a wonderful baby girl!
Tricia's 1st day in meeting Elsie...not sure if Tricia is enjoying the moment or passing gas
Of course Natty was ready to hold her the minute she arrived

Let the shopping begin...if you can tell by Elsie's face she isn't too interested
see what I mean about warming up to her... she was so precious w/ Elsie it blessed my heart

almost forgot

In regards to Mother's Day I forgot to write about the awesome mom's day breakfast we had Saturday morning! Micah picked up a variety of Panera bagels the night before on his way home, due to the fact that we don't have one within 30 miles of us. The Quiggle's came over and we enjoyed breakfast on the back patio. They gave me a gift card to get a mani/pedi which I'm very much in need of so that was awesome!

Celebrating Life

It's hard to pinpoint what I felt this weekend, not just because it was my first Mother's Day (which was super exciting) but it was also our sixth year wedding anniversary! I don't feel like I was celebrating either but just celebrating the wonderful life God has blessed us with instead. Micah for weeks has been asking what I want and I really couldn't ask for anything. I'm so happy with our life right now and all of our needs are being taken care of, and most importantly I'm able to be a stay at home mom. That truly is the best gift ever. We had such a great weekend though. My dad and Josh came up to visit, mainly just Elsie and we grilled out and just relaxed. Then Micah and I splurged and enjoyed Blizzards from DQ. Then Sunday after a great church service we headed to the movie theatre and watched Wolverine. Elsie slept through the first half then ate and watched about ten minutes of the movie before getting fussy and needing to be held by her daddy which she immediately fell asleep in his arms. She was precious when she was watching the big screen. Her eyes were big and she was sucking her paci really fast, not sure if she was scared or just not sure what was going on, but she stared intently on the movie for awhile. Then on the way home we stopped and got another blizzard, one, because we had a buy 1 get 1 free coupon but secondly because we are cracking down and starting to eat healthy again. Now that I can work and we have a great schedule with the baby down there is no excuse. After that we came home and we all had an afternoon nap. Then after feeding Elsie around dinner time I ran out to shop while Micah stayed home with her. I picked up In & Out Burger on the way home, like I said, we kind of went all out on junk food knowing healthy habits were just around the corner. Overall I'd say we had a fab Mother's Day/Anniversary weekend!
Ya so basically I have photo shoots with Elsie everyday

A weekend full of Firsts

So this weekend we made a trip out to San Diego to pick up some new items from IKEA, we are pretty sure Elsie loves SD as much as we do. We stopped to eat lunch in the Historic Gaslamp District first and then went shopping. We made sure to stop at the Donut Corner in Escondido on the way home. Micah got the blueberry donut and I got the orange cream donut. All I know is it's a good thing this donut 24 hour donut stop is 45 minutes from our house otherwise I would be at least 20 lbs heavier. I took tons of pictures of Elsie because this was the first time I put her in pants and a top. All of her newborn outfits have consisted of onesies and pajamas. So she just seemed like a big girl to me. Plus she had the cutest shoes on too!
Today after church we made our usual grocery run and our traditional Sunday lunch stop at Wahoo's Fish Tacos. On the way home we heard a sucking noise coming from the back seat. I thought she was dead asleep but when I turned to look at her mirror we noticed she was finding her thumb for the first time. I actually caught in on video. I was so excited I almost cried. She is just growing up too fast already.
So basically it was her first time wearing pants and shoes, first time to visit San Diego, first time to Donut Corner and first time sucking her thumb!

She is ready to shop!

Look at her shoes!
